This extremely hardy apple is a seedling of a Russian apple that was introduced by Adolf Heyer of Neville, Saskatchewan in 1936. Large green apples sometimes have a pink blush. Juicy, crisp flesh is sweet with acid flavor, excellent for fresh eating, and also makes great pies and sauce. Ripens early/mid season and is somewhat like Gravenstein, only much hardier. It has some fireblight resistance and is hardy zones 1-8.
