Magness is a smooth juicy dessert pear with rich, buttery, highly perfumed flesh. A cross of Comice and Seckel it was developed by the USDA pear breeding program and released in 1960. Very productive greenish yellow fruits are unique in that they ripen to perfection on the tree and don't have to be picked green. Ripens late and is great for fresh eating. Very disease resistant, including fireblight. Hardy zones 5-10
