Dear Friends of Fruitwood Nursery,

 

After 50 years as full time organic farmers and nursery folk, it is time for us to retire and cut back our commitments. With grandchildren on the way and the years ticking by, we have come to the realization it is time to find new plant enthusiasts to carry on and grow the important service our online nursery has provided. We are committed to finding the right people who understand the deep importance of the work we do, preserving and making available the rich diversity of plant collections we have assembled from many parts of the world. Someone who will honor our many loyal and devoted long time repeat customers who count on us to provide them with propagation material that can be found nowhere else.

This opportunity is both a call to service and meaningful work, but also a great business opportunity. After selling our previous online business Rolling River Nursery, we started Fruitwood Nursery thinking it would be more of a specialty operation catering to the do it yourself home grafting community. We were surprised to find  there is a huge movement of people that are passionately propagating plants for their own gardens, homesteads, permaculture and wildlife plantings, as well as starting nursery operations both large and small to serve their local communities. This discovery has been very inspiring for us! Our work to keep all these dedicated folk supplied with the propagation materials needed for their projects has turned into a thriving and full time business, one that keeps us hustling to fulfill! 

 

And for all our customers who may be concerned by these changes, we are fully committed to the continued operation and growth of Fruitwood Nursery until the right folks show up to carry it on. As well as the seamless transfer of daily operations and inventory production once this time has come. We are fully engaged in the current operation of our business, and will be fully involved in the transfer  of every aspect of the nursery as it transfers to new owners, from maintaining the collections, to growing the products, through shipping and all the customer care that comes with it. We are very thankful for your loyal patronage  over the years, and it is our desire that this move will only increase the service Fruitwood Nursery will offer in the future.
