Arrowood (Viburnum dentatum) Cutting Wood
Also known as Arrowood Viburnum, it is another beautiful member of the Viburnum genus having clusters of showy butterfly attractive white flowers in the spring and bright red, purple, oragnge and yellow fall color. When pruned back it produces large numbers of straight hard wooded suckers that are used to make arrow shafts. A wonderful wildlife plant it produces masses of purplish fruits that are a feast for the birds and the foliage is food for different butterfly and moth larvae such as the spectacular Hummingbird Moth. Makes a great dense hedge plant which is attractive to birds as nesting sites. Hardy zones 3-8b.
