Very heavy producer of sweet red-pink fruits. Showy orange-red flowers and large low thorn pads on a sturdy plant that is said to have excellent cold hardiness. This Opuntia ficus- indica variety was collected by Opuntia breeder Peter Felker from a farmer in Saltillo, Mexico. We obtaned this selection from the National Arid Land Plant Genetic Resource Unit (NALPGRU) in Parlier, CA.
