An excellent old heirloom apple widely grown in the 18th century, when it was known as the mortgage lifter due to its reliable late season bearing and good keeping qualities. Firm medium sized fruit is aromatic and of good flavor. Yellow skin is blushed with bright red. Great for cooking, cider and fresh eating. hardy zones 3-8.
