Considered a miracle tree in Africa where it is used to halt the spread of deserts and help keep farm lands productive. Has highly nutritious seeds and leaves that make a great food for humans and livestock. A fast growing legume it fixes nitrogen and has a light shade making it an excellent companion plant. Can grow up to 35 feet tall if not cut back. Sensitive to freezing it is hardy to zone 9, but has been grown in zone 8 with some extra care. Also grows well in a pot or greenhouse. Starts easily from seed.
