Also called leylandii cypress it is a natural cross of the Monterey Cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa and Nootka False Cypress (Chamaecyparis nootkatensis). It is a fast-growing evergreen tree that is excellent and widely used as a dense screen or hedge where privacy is quickly need. It has beautiful luxuriant foliage and is very tough and hardy under challenging conditions. Can reach 60 to 90 feet tall, but can be kept much smaller with pruning. Hardy zones 4-8.
