Also known as Flame Tree due to its extremely showy red flowers this member of the legume family is native to Madagascar, and is widely grown as an ornamental tree in many tropical countries of the world. In the United States it is most commonly grown in Florida or other reliably frost free areas. Fast growing trees to 40 to 50' are hardy zones 10-12.
